HILDA DOOLITTLE (H. D.) Nace en Pensilvania en 1886. Participa en la revista Egoist junto con su esposo, Richard Aldington. Gana el premio de poesía Helen Haire Levinson en 1938 y es la primera mujer en recibir la medalla al mérito de la Academia Americana de Artes y Letras en 1960. Muere en Suiza en 1961.
